Canakinumab for Adult-Onset Still Disease

 This review identified limited evidence from 2 systematic reviews about the clinical effectiveness and safety of canakinumab for patients with adult-onset Still disease (AOSD). Most studies in on AOSD did not have a control group; therefore, findings related to this population are uncertain.
 For adults AOSD, treatment may be associated complete or partial response treatment, corticosteroid-sparing effect, decrease normalization key laboratory parameters, such as leukocyte count, erythrocyte sedimentation rate, serum levels ferritin C-reactive protein, compared baseline.
 In suggested there was no statistically significant difference between placebo articular manifestations.
 Adverse events included infections, leukopenia, musculoskeletal connective tissue disorders, skin thoracic mediastinal gastrointestinal site injection reactions. Severe adverse macrophage activation syndrome, hepatocytotoxicity, serious infections that led discontinuation treatment.
 No were found comparing alternative pharmacologic treatments AOSD.
 cost-effectiveness evidence-based guidelines use ASOD.
